Once infected with distemper, the mortality rate is over 80 per cent. Symptoms of distemper are similar to those of canine adenovirus. At the beginning, the dog’s body temperature is as high as 39.5-41 degrees Celsius, with loss of appetite, depression, watery discharge from the eyes and nose, sneezing, and diarrhoea.
